One of my earliest projects, this is a home for an artist. Located in a forest clearing adjacent to a small lake, the building doubles as a home and outdoor gallery for the sculptor's large-scale works. The house itself is composed of several cantilevered platforms which can support some of the sculptures and act as outdoor patios, becoming increasingly intimate as one reaches the highest levels. The interior is opened up to the outdoors through a large curtain wall and panelled glass exterior walls which slide and fold away to open up the space completely. As one moves toward the back and up-stairs, the interior of the home, also, becomes increasingly intimate, culminating in the master bedroom.
